Here, in the centre of London, lives a young and talented Latvian fine artist named Natalie Richy. In just a few years she has achieved something remarkable -- recognition in England's art world.

Natalie's paintings are being exhibited in fine art galleries and she has very ambitious plans for the future.

We met Natalie in her art studio next to the City of London.

The artist admits that in almost every artwork she is painting herself.

"At exhibitions I've often been asked where I developed my painting skills and style. I'm proud to tell people that I graduated from the Latvian Academy of Art. Now, more and more people in Britain can appreciate what Latvian art is."

After graduation from the Academy, Natalie went to London, where she was introduced to TV mogul Simon Fuller.

"He liked my artistic style and he purchased some of my art. That was the financial support that let me stay in London."

Natalie was giving private painting lessons back in Latvia, but while abroad she decided to expand her tutoring activities. She spent a few years doing research in art libraries and studying the old masters' techniques.
Then she founded her own programme of online video lessons to teach others those techniques. Now she has students from all over the world -- mostly from the USA, Europe, Australia and Russia.

The artist is pleased that she could make a living by doing the things she enjoys the most.

"The Web Art Academy is a unique programme on the Internet. This project allows me to teach and to create my art at the same time."

Sometimes she visit friends in Riga, but Natalie thinks that she won't return home.
"Going back home means to go back to someone. I don't have any relatives, so the whole world is open for me and my home is where I choose it to be."

The artist wants to build her own family and to realize her monumental dream:

"I would like to found a museum, dedicated to Baltic fine art. It should be located in London, which is a central tourist destination. I have so many favourite artists from Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania, and I would like to introduce their art to the world."

Photos of Natalie's artworks can be seen in art magazines, and she is currently preparing for upcoming personal exhibitions in London's galleries.

So far Natalie is enjoying her life in Britain. However, she is open to living in other dynamic places, as long as she is free to create art and work on her projects.
