Leeds Met Welcome Week 2010: Welcome To Leeds Met

A new academic year has begun at Leeds Met, as we welcome thousands of students for Welcome Week.

The Leeds Met student experience started for many on Sunday, when Welcome Week officially kicked off. Newcomers are invited to come and have a look around and explore the Welcome Village at our Headingley Campus.

A range of activities and initiatives have been planned to make newcomers feel at home. Throughout the week there will be the opportunity to meet with tutors and fellow students, learn all about university life through faculty inductions and information sessions in the Welcome Tent. Evening entertainment will include our University's official Welcome Party, featuring Zane Lowe and special guests. There will also be a headphone disco and for those seeking an alternative evening, the option of a traditional Ceilidh party on Thursday.

New arrivals wishing to get into the spirit of things earlier in the week are invited to attend our Students' Union Freshers' Party on Monday 20 September. The evening, which is expected to be a huge hit, will include performances from star turns such as Diana Vickers, Five, Beatbullyz and a number of guest DJs. Doors open for the event at 9pm at The Stage, Leeds Met Students' Union, City Campus.
