Fifties Cheesecake Dance No. 5

PLEASE READ THIS - Here is the first (of four) dance sequences from the 1955 film, "Son of Sinbad". The abundance of 50s cheesecake in this film, which was directed by Ted Tetzlaff, earned it a Condemned rating by the Catholic Legion of Decency. The dancer is Nejla Ates, a trained bellydancer who was born in Turkey.

No, I have read that several times around The Net but it is incorrect. The best biography of Nejla Ates is on the "Glamour Girls of the Silver Screen" site, which says that she died in a hospital in Istanbul in early April 2005, aged 73.

@pwgr2000 : She did die of a barbiturate overdose, but she left no note, so it might have been unintentional. She is rumored to have had many overdoses over her career. She's listed under many spellings of both her first and last name, this one being the most Americanized. Nedjai Atesh is also common, and her given name is Necla Batir.
