Following their recent Top 40 successes with debut single Numb and follow up Fly Away, Honey Ryder have announced details of their third single Choices and debut album Rising Up.




The London-based duo, Martyn Shone and Lindsay OMahony, have worked on Rising Up with producers Goldust (Bryan Adams, Natasha Bedingfield). The album has been mixed by Brad Gilderman, (Madonna, Outkast) and Bob Kraushaar (Pet Shop Boys, Robbie Williams).




Tips from Music Week to The News Of The World, The Daily and Sunday Express to The Times have, alongside the bands initial chart success, set the stage for the bands debut long player. Honey Ryder defy the old tradition of not mixing business with pleasure and have made a beautifully melodic and epic album that is backed with forward thinking business models. A recent full page feature in Music Week highlighted the unique funding model they have devised for the project, which involves selling shares in the future profits from income they expect to generate. This has caught the eye of former EMI CEO, Eric Nicoli, who has become a personal mentor to the duo, veteran producer Hugh Padgham, and pop superstar Annie Lennox.




Over the past 9 months the band have toured relentlessly, performing to over 200,000 people as sole special guests on various high profile tours, including Will Young, Michael Bolton and Hue & Cry. The tours took in venues such as The Royal Albert Hall, Liverpool Philharmonic and Birmingham Symphony Hall. The duo also performed in Belfast for BBC Children In Need, alongside Enya and The Script.

More recently Honey Ryder have just returned from performing at Midem in Cannes, and from Austin Texas where they performed at the SXSW Music Festival. Subsequent international deals have followed for the duo, with EMI Canada being the first to snap them up. News stories on them have also featured on national TV in France and Japan, where they have a growing army of fans.




Barbara Orbison (widow of Roy Orbison) was so taken with Honey Ryder in Texas that she asked them to take part in an event to mark Roys birthday. The band have just finished recording a version of Roys Love In Time, and will be performing it at a one-off show at the Gibson Club alongside many other artists on April 23rd. Extremely fitting, and flattering, considering Orbison was a childhood hero of OMahonys.




Honey Ryder have, through lateral thought and sheer hard graft, generated considerable industry and consumer interest in their epic brand of radio friendly rock/pop. Current single Choices walked straight on to the Radio 2 B list, with regional radio picking up new playlists daily. Terry Wogan has called Choices mean, moody & magnificent, while Janice Long has already booked Honey Ryder for a 2nd live session, on her Radio 2 show.
