i think the video is suiting..he's talking about release and the guy is driving within the lines of the road watching the world go by him. it's actually pretty poetic if you take the lyrics into account.

Yeah, because it's so obvious that I was trying really hard to make a statement with this video. The truth is that my brothers and I were bored on a car ride and decided it would be fun to do stupid video with this song. I'm sorry it doesn't quite live up to YouTube's amazingly high standards. I also find it curious that most people who have a problem with this video don't have any videos posted themselves. So I would have to posit that not having any videos of your own would be a bigger fail.
