This is my brand new Panther chameleon I got a few days ago. He is a very nice Ambilobe, with a very bad attitude! lol.

Resting colors: Forest green, blood red bars, maroon eye turrets.

Fired up colors: Limegreen with a hint of vibrant yellow, fire engine reds and speckles of extremely light colored blues throughout the red barring.

Sleeping colors: Limegreen with extremely bright red barring. The reds are very thick and deep in color, beautiful to see in person!

His blues tend to vary, sky blues, navy blues, and almost a white/grey blue. Very fun looking at and taking pictures of, capturing different shades!

In this video, this guy is in an outside enclosure with a couple Umbrella plants and one Pothos plant on the bottom.

He arrived with a little bit of "gunk" in both of his eyes. This gunk is NOT UNCOMMON. It happens to many chameleons once in their life time.

It's simply a build up of bacteria.

I put this guy outside during the A.M. 11:00 am-6:30 pm.

He first got a 30 minute misting session. This gives him eye workouts. With the mist, hell bubble up his eyes, literally cleaning them from whats inside.

I let everything dry before turning on the dripper.

He gets 2 hours of the dripper.

A few good 15 minute misting sessions thru-out the day.

A dozen 2 minute misting sessions thru-out the day.

I fed him 16 1/2 inch crickets early in the morning.

Gut load for crickets: Today the crickets ate kale, carrot top, oatmeal, bee pollen, and sweet potato prior to feeding to my chameleon "Alastor".

No supplements were used today.

A really good way to get your chameleon to clean its eyes is a very nice misting shower.

Make sure you leave them a few spaces to get away from the mist.

During the late afternoon, I place a heat-lamp on the screen, because the sun is getting lower and the temperature is getting in the mid 70s. 72-75 is what I consider mid 70s.

So now he has an option to warm up!

If your chameleon has a BIG bubble in one or both of his/her eye(s) then you can do this

Get your chameleon in a well lit room, I use my bathroom. Make sure to hold your chameleon tightly, but by no means, hurt him/her by holding too tightly!

Your chameleon will attempt to bite you, and will move its head around. This will go on no matter what, do not take time to wait and see if he/she will calm down. The sooner you act, the less stress is put on to your chameleon.

Get a clean Q-tip and wet it with warm water. Now here is the tricky part You have to figure how to get your chameleon to look a certain way. The angel in which it will show the bubble gap on his/her eye. The gunk will be inside of his/her eye lid, and it is NOT hard to get out.

Simply, and softly! Massage it out with the wet Q-tip.

Chameleons eye lids are extremely soft! Be gentle to his/her eye(s)!

It will easily slide out of his/her eye(s) and appear to look like a clear jelly fish sort of thing. Toss it out and give your chameleon a nice warm shower!

  • whats that thing on his tail

  • a piece of dead skin. he was shedding that time of week.

  • is that the only way 2 take them a shower

  • you can give panther chameleons other types of showers. inside showers are good too, especially if its too cold outside.

place him in his cage, bring it inside of the tub and let the shower head hit the wall. the water hitting off of the wall should make out to be more like rain fall. make sure the water isnt too cold nor too hot. if your chameleons runs away fast, it means its either too cold or too hot. a tad bit warmer than luke warm is deal.

make sure he has a live plant to chill on.

  • Beautiful colours :)

  • Aw thanks!

He is a mean Panther! love it! lol... i always have a soft spot for the tough guys! haha, especially when they're younger like him! surprisingly this guy is ONLY 10 months old in the video! he has some impressive greens and reds already!

I'm planning on breeding him in a few months! :)
