Street Fighter 4 - Three More Gouken Matches

Some more Gouken Shenanigans over XBL.

As requested, here are a couple blanka matches. Both are against the same gentleman, a very good Blanka player sitting around 5k BP. Also a good Ryu.

Gouken is fairly new, and I am uploading these vids to highlight how I interpret his style playing out. I play very offensively here, although you can see all of his tools at work.

well siyko recorded this in march, which means sf4 just got released! thats very good gouken playstyle for that early time of sf4 and it wasnt sure if you could mash out of blankas bite, like when your dizzy.

Yeah, pretty much. In ST you mash out of throws like that, and I had been playing ST up until SF4's release, so it was a habit (even if i knew academically that it does nothing).

Gouken is cool, I'm not good with him but then again I havn't played alot with him. The only thing I don't agree with is how you can link his super or ultra just from his backwards throw. That's a bit cheap and is also one of the reasons he's banned at tournaments.

I heard they might change his backwards throw though in super street fighter 4. His backwards throw might be something new that can't link his super and ultra.

Gouken's throw to Ultra/Super is only as cheap as Ryu's light Shoryuken to Ultra, Balrog's Headbutt to Ultra, Sagat's Tiger Uppercut/Knee to Ultra. Basically character has Ultras that can be linked to another move. Gouken's happens to be a throw. People are just pissed because once they get tossed in the air they know they're finished. But as soon as Ryu does his stupid shoryuken, or Balrog gets off a JAB!!, the same thing happens.

guys... there's plenty of ryus and balrogs zangiefs and who are versatile and powerful (not to mention sagat).

they have lots of hp, great daamge or just, like ryu, are fast and can link quite powerful combos with ease... gouken has standard hp, standard damage, it's quite impossible to use his super (wich, by the way it's quite useless) and you have to be great to outguess your opponent's moves... and you complain because he can grab and ultra you?
