Kyra Sedgwick: Civilization in a Stable Climate

We don't reflect very often on the fact that human civilization has grown up in what has been a relatively hospitable climate since the last ice age. All of our cultural institutions have grown up and flourished in that last 20,000 years. And all of it depends, even though we don't recognize it, on a stable climate.
