SwingMan1937's New Orleans Longing: Dwayne Burns and his New Orleans Band - October 4, 2011

This, to me, is home.

This is one reason why Maison Bourbon on Bourbon & St. Peter is my 2nd home when I'm in New Orleans - Dwayne Burns and his New Orleans Band. Feeling and sentiment to burn.

I forget what the first tune was, but the second tune is "Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans". I told Dwayne that it was my last night in New Orleans & he got up and sang it - I was standing camera left out of frame, tears streaming down my face. Indescribable emotions.

Video cameras weren't allowed in Maison Bourbon, so my mother took her still camera to shoot these little bits of video "incognito" that last night - Tuesday, October 4th, 2011.

Dwayne, if either you or Maison Bourbon itself wishes this video removed, just say the word here & I'll pull it - I just wanted to share more of what I experienced in New Orleans & part of why I'll always be homesick for the place. :)

@sideshowtink You and I both, Tink - you'll probably get sick of me talking about it, but I really am just biding my time & counting the days until I'm back there.

Whether I snag any 78's or not, I know in my heart that I could die happy if I made it back just one more time. I've never had a place grab such a hold & speak right to my soul as New Orleans has.

It's where I need to be - of that I'm certain. It's home.

Damn Mark that's a tear jerker for sure , especially knowing the emotion you put into making this and how you miss that place. Goint into my favorites for sure.
