You're right mate. Helmets are not compulsory in DK. Helmet use is being promoted. The % of riders using them is increasing significantly. DK cops at times have blitzes on people who don't have lights on their bikes. They give you a fine, but also give you a set of good lights at the same time because they are promoting safe cycling.
And cars? Yeah they are expensive. You pay 180% on top of the purchase price as tax. Then you have a variety of other taxes each year.
