It's not about the gaming skills here, just trying to bring back some memories.
A vertical-scrolling shoot-em-up. Pilot a space fighter through waves of aliens, using warps and the "mystery" to escape danger and gain extra points. Aliens mutate into more dangerous forms the longer they survive

  • sound effects practically verbatim to defender..gameplay similar to other shoot em ups like galaga..but on a semi 3d appearing screen...why would i want to collect this machine, if it's so close a clone to so many others? memories, that's why...every sound effect, every visual bit, is a memory...they're like keys that unlock things i try to remember normally, but can't seem to. odd? i bet everyone thinks so..

  • Despite having so much in common with defender in look, feel and sound, it is actually a lot easier in the first waves. This one is good for the easily frustated ;)

  • 1984/86 I went to college for a 1 year course and they had this game in the common room. I played it every day and it was myself and 1 other guy everyone hated because we were so good at it and took so long playing it. My record was 50 million and 9 extra lives, I had to stop because I was Starving hungry! The other fella wanted a 2 player game but it would have taken days. Needless to say, after a year I knew much more about Juno First than I did Sports and Leisure . management! great memories

  • What is unique about the hardware for this game (it was also used for Tutankham) is that it is entirely framebuffer based; there are no hardware sprites.

  • I was pretty pissed that this game not was part of Konami Arcade Hits for DS, yet TRACK AND FIELD IS??? WHAT THE HELL, KONAMI??!!

  • my juno first just broke :-(

the playfield graphics have all gone green

  • I just ordered the new homebrew port for the Atari 2600. Its awesome :)

  • @carnivalofsouls2047 Juno First will be out on Xbox 360 Game Room next week I think, MAYBE the week after.

  • OMG, I love this game! This looks awesome! I'm a huge fan of DEFENDER but this game looks even better! I plan to get this game some way, some how! Thanks for the demonstration video, I can't believe I never played this when it released in the eighties!
