SNELL approved?

I was really looking forward to this helmet but when reading some of the reviews they mention that the shield mounting hardware is not only very cheap and easy to break, but that it is also pretty difficult to change shields. I frequently ride day and night and constantly change between shields on my crappy gmax gm68, so this concerns me a lot. What are your thoughts about changing shields on the icon variant? I'm about to buy a new helmet and I am stuck between this and the shoei rf 1100.

I appreciate that you rated it on the "food chain" from entry level to the higher end.

Can the peak be removed?
Duckfacination 2 weeks ago
@Duckfacination Unfortunately no. But the peak is designed in a wind tunnel and is one of the only that doesn't pull your head around at high speeds.

I'm thinking of getting one in white. I'm definitely not a dual sport rider, but I think this in white would be ridiculous and highly visible for the masses of cagers here in California.

@Inverted314 See below comment. lol - I think you would be buying it for the right reasons. That's why Icon designed it.

"The new Icon Variant is the most outlandish and wild of the Motard style helmets from RevZilla.com."
Likely because it's a street helmet, that has a sun peak.
