(I'm singing 3 Doors Down's song "Here Without You" It is karaoke instrumentals in the background. This is not my song. No copyright infringement intended. This song belongs to 3 Doors Down.)

The chinchillas in this video almost all have health issues or such abusive pasts that they need specialized care to help them with their extensive behavior and trust issues. The health issues include epilepsy and other seizure disorders, brain injuries, malo, missing/injured/blind eyes, etc. Each is a resident of Finally Home Chinchillas' Sanctuary, with the exception of Pookiebear, who is a loving, adoptable boy with no issues.

Our rescue and sanctuary are run out of our home. We strive to provide each chinchilla with a loving, comfortable home while they are here. We believe that as a rescue, it is our duty to model what we'd like adoptive homes to provide.

We are almost entirely self-funded, but we do get in donations ranging from financial contributions to toys to water bottles, crocks and dust houses. Every single donation is greatly appreciated. This video is to thank those of you who have generously donated to our rescue and sanctuary.

This video is also intended to bring awareness to the plight of chinchillas. Please, think before you buy one of these beautiful animals. They can live for over 20 years! They bathe in dust, they need to almost constantly chew. They need to eat special pellets and unlimited hay. They need to have expensive wheels to run on, and long play times outside of their cages. If you want to have a chinchilla for a pet, see about volunteering at your local rescue. Find out the kind of care they need before you bring one home. Make sure you can commit to them for LIFE. Thank you

  • Adorable ^-^

  • @cookiemish Thank you!

  • They are all so cute, could I ask what you do with them once you have rescued them? Do you keep them or do you give them to other homes again?

And by the way how many do you have altogether?

  • @Dyzzy001 Thanks! We get them settled in here, and then we take them in to the vet to see if there is anything that needs healing. Then we work with them to gain their trust and to get better (if they're sick). Yes, we find good homes for them when they're healthy enough, if possible. Some chins we can't, like if they have malocclusion, epilepsy, or brain damage, for example.

Oh, we have fluctuating numbers right now, but counting our pet chinchillas, it's about 30.

  • Great job and I loved the pictures. :)

  • @Rebecca4646 Thank you so much!

  • 0:11 is too cute- do they make good pets? Im switching to a college thats pet friendly and I either want these cuties or guinea piggies!

  • r u giving them away if u r i might want a male for my female chinchilla

  • 1:16 is she blind? D: It looks like it. It's so sad to see chin owners who abuse their pets. It makes me feel good to have checked every rescue around for a chin before I got one. :[ But I know I could have looked harder to find one.

  • Abusive pasts? you mean people would abuse them? people are sick.. nice to know you're there to help :)

  • beautiful chinchillas. :) Thanks for what you do. The world needs more people like this.
