Ink and Water Aftereffects Test

A test video using after effects.

I filmed ink drops falling in water and soaking in wet paper. I then used the footage to create alpha masks in after effects over the top of an illustration I created to give an interesting animation technique inspired by the title sequence from the new Sherlock Holmes movie

@chuneric Thanks for the comment :) Well I used adobe after effects to create the ink effects. I didn't follow a tutorial really, I just played around with alpha/luma masks and blending modes with different clips of ink in water and paper (that I took) and layered them up over an illustration I had made. I could make a short tutorial of how the effect was achieved.

I think this is really cool. What is that wave coming in at 9.00? And would it be possible to explain how you went about filming the water drops and the wet paper? I don't quite understand your description. I'd like to try to make something similar because I think this is rather creative.
