Wear them more often then the leather will be softer and become more "practical".. But as you were saying about the beach, I'm sure you can wear them to the beach, as they wouldn't get damaged(:

Doc Martens weren't meant to be fashionable, they only became mainstream in the 90's. Other than that, I say wear them for what they were meant for: ANYTHING.
