Julie pointed out the following strengths for Sara: clear, direct & loving requests - he did everything she asked; nice persistence when requesting; great enthusiasm, especially the timing when it looked like he was leaving the interaction; great celebrating & telling him how he's participating. Julie pointed out the following as things Sara could add: celebrate spontaneous language and eye contact; remember to define not only Elliot's role but YOUR role. Other learnings included: "being uncomfortable distracts you from action"; remember that much of what we do in the room is experimenting; give when he looks less motivated, request when he seems more motivated.
