Introducing: Mauro Silva Part 2 of 3

Mauro Silva lives in El Bolson in Patagonia, Argentina. He is self taught and plays guitar by ear. Mauro was born in Brazil and moved to Argentina as a child. I first heard Mauro playing when I was visiting the outdoor artesan market that's held in El Bolson three times a week. I heard this amazing Flamenco sounding guitar and followed my ears to find Mauro. I asked him if we could record a video for our YouTube channel and he liked the idea. We recorded him playing at his house, a 2 story house that he built himself, using what ever materials he could find- like car windshields for windows. This was the first time he had recorded his playing. When we met, he had never heard or even heard of Leo Kotkke, John Fahey, Peter Lange or Adrian Legg so I played some for him and he really liked it so I gave him some albums. I wouldn't be surprised if hearing these masters didn't inspire Mauro to ever greater heights in his musical endeavors. Stay tuned...

Mauro Silva vive en El Bolsón en la Patagonia, Argentina. Él es autodidacta y toca la guitarra de oído. Mauro nació en Brasil y se trasladó a la Argentina como un niño. Escuché por primera vez jugando Mauro cuando estaba visitando el mercado artesanal al aire libre que se celebrará en El Bolsón tres veces a la semana. He oído esta increíble sonido de guitarra flamenca y seguido mis oídos para encontrar Mauro. Le pregunté si podíamos grabar un video de nuestro canal de YouTube y le gustó la idea. Registramos él jugando en su casa, una casa de 2 pisos que se construyó, utilizando lo que alguna vez los materiales que encontramos-como parabrisas de los automóviles para las ventanas. Esta fue la primera vez que había registrado su juego. Cuando nos conocimos, que nunca había escuchado ni oído hablar de Leo Kotkke, John Fahey, Peter Lange o Adrian Legg así que jugué un poco para él, y él realmente le gustó, así que le dieron algo de álbumes. No me sorprendería si la audición de estos maestros no inspiran Mauro a alturas cada vez mayor en sus esfuerzos musicales. Stay tuned ...
