IT's not "country", it's Americana..it's roots....It's not glitter-pop Nashville the proctology capitol of big hat country.

Each time I watch this video I fall deeper and deeper for her. An amazing fact is that when you view some of her older videos you realize how much her image changes. I love watching her facial expressions as well. The rendition with Emmylou Harris is perfection. Now if we can just pair this young lady with Dolly Parton or even better, the entire "trio" team.

@sepod You think this is a tear-jerker? You should hear her sing this with Emmylou Harris singing harmony! It will bring you to your knees! Simply overwhelming. It leaves everyone awash with memories of days gone by. Abandon hope of ever stopping ~ my REPLAY button cries for mercy.

This is one of the saddest Songs I ever heard but its truly beautiful, Iris sings it perfectly. The violin gives that sadness touch.

I'm not really into Country and Western Music, however, Iris Dement, who I've never heard of, nearly knocked me out with this beautiful, sad, bittersweet wonderful tear jerker. Wow, I just love it. Thanks a million for posting...Damn, it's good. I've already been playing it over and over for a half hour, and I can't seem to stop...I don't want to stop. Beautiful voice, compelling lyrics. Did I say that I absolutely love it?

This song so exquisitely captures that melancholy sense of longing for things that can never be recaptured. It's terribly sad but an absolutely wonderful song. 5 stars.
