Huckabee supports the death penalty and he understands it. It should be done, but you have to make sure there truly guilty.

Sorry if there were any grammar errors. I am trying to work on that, but keep in mind it is just a comment on YouTube and not some essay.

We must initiate tort reform to unclog the prison system. We must create programs to prevent youth from falling into criminal lifestyles. We must put more police into the areas with the highest crime rates and give them the authority to handle the situation. Finally, we must declare an unwavering war on gang violence. It must be wiped out because too many innocent people have been killed and because it is destroying neighborhoods that should be living in safety.

That said, I still would like to see the death penalty be a rare occurrence. However, their certainly is a place for it. We cannot be nice about crime. We need to undertake an aggresive anti-crime policy as a country. That means cutting perks out of prison, giving the police all of the resources they need to fight the problem, reexamining our attitudes about the drug war and deciding whether we should legalize certain drugs, so we can focus on the really terrible substances.

Cheaper? Where have you gotten that information? Even if it was cheaper, there are more reasons than money to have a person executed. The death penalty should be an option in cases of murder and child molestation. The heinousness of the crime would determine whether that option should be undertaken. The only reason that I can think of that would make the death penalty more expensive than life in prison, would be that method of execution cost a lot of money. Life in prison seems more expensive.

theres a NY times article where it states in florida it cost taxpayers $51 more to keep an inmate on death row as opposed to general population alone not to mention all the trials they go through to determine this persons guiltiness...the trials are not free they are very expensive

Wow they completely dodged that question. They know what Jesus would do. They are so going to hell. Lol. Hell. What a funny concept.

dude, that question was absurd. how can you ask a question about religion in a country that made sure to be divided by church and state? we are clearly heading off the train tracks from actual democracy to a very opinionated religious regime! this question based on normal human morality is better without the reasoning of religion. we don't need religion to tell us what's right and wrong, we can make the decision ourselves

@bealmeister He was pointing out the hypocrisy within the individuals who consider themselves to be "Christian-Conservative." I don't think that guy is either.
