Clearly you're clueless about the real motivation behind our presence in the Middle East. Here's a hint, anikinippon: it has NOTHING to do with fighting terrorism.

When you illegally invade countries that pose no threat to the United States, poison their land, destroy their infrastructure and kill well over a million innocent people in the process (a number that will only grow as long as we're there), all you do is create more terrorists. Unfortunately, if America fails to impose its will militarily then we're left to be at the mercy of OTHER tyrants and dictators. Sadaam sought to shift from dollars to Euros for his oil and that would've had a catastrophic efffect on our economy so he was made an example. It may not be right to some but it's all relative. The strong dominate the weak through viloence and intimidation least they themselves become dominated and weak.

So you're saying illegally invading and occupying Iraq was a necessary evil? Sorry my friend. Not buying that one. Especially since we've been there for six years now and our economy is tanking anyway. Saddam was hardly in a position to be dominating anybody, much less the United States, having already been decimated by 12 years of sanctions after the first Gulf war. He posed no threat to us. Our economy and our moral standing in the world would be far better served with complete withdrawal.

As I noted on the vid after I posted it, please see video info re: "shuck and jive." As far as respect goes, it must be earned. Obama is not only ignoring his oath by refusing to demand justice for Bush's crimes, but he also refused to discuss the Wall Street bailout scam in a debate before he voted for it (as did McCain), and voted for the bill that let telecoms off the hook for illegal spying, AFTER he promised to vote against and even filibuster it if necessary. He has a long way to go.
