@JackieChandler To be truthful, America was almost the only one to defeat the Japanese in the Pacific theatre of war. Now, if you were speaking about the European side of the war, Americans really should take credit for liberating France, who can't seem to win ANYTHING. Americans also did make a significant carve up the side of Italy AND win the Battle of the Bulge. Now, it is good to guard against over-Americanization, but they DID win more than half of the war. Give credit where it is due.

@liberkid while that is true, the people before the Europeans in America didnt refer to themselves as Americans. They might have been native to the land we call "America" today, but foreigners were the first Americans.
