Congrats! You are 100% right! There is only ONE way to quit smoking. You have to WANT to quit more than you WANT to smoke....so, it sounds to me like you have your head together and you have the facts. I just quit after smoking for many years. I don't really tell people I quit....just want to keep my options open in case I change my mind but I haven't had a cigarette in 10 days which is a HUGE deal to me.I think about it and sometimes I want one but I do think I finally want to quit more.Peace

I could smoke a pack in 1 day when i smoked no problem. the cravings will never go away i think, but they get way less frequent. my energy level has gone through the roof. cold turkey is the only way. wait till you get sick before you start makes the first day or two wayyy easier

i feel sorry for all you smokers, i have been smoke free since august, and its been quite a ride, depression, constant cravings, headaches, difficulty sleeping, weird dreams. I still crave maybe once a day or every couple days months later.

i like to think of cigarettes like donuts, i feel like they're the same unhealthyness. cuz i mean if you smoke a pack a day, that's 20. and if you eat 20 donuts a day you're friggin huge, obese and your heart struggles, and your organs start to shut down, and you get diabetes. the difference is, you can't immediately see yourself getting less healthy with cigs, and that many donuts makes you fat, and it's more immediately visable

and smoking can effect more organs than drinking can

thats right.

1 pack a week is pretty hard to do congrats

I hope you stop, or have stopped smoking! It is not only bad for your health, it is such a waist of money! My aunt couldn't ever quit smoking, she is 56 and has been smoking since she was 8!

Well I haven't quit entirely, but I'm down to one pack a week and that's even made a world of difference. I haven't been sick as much and generally feel more energetic. Although friends and family say the migraines from not smoking as much may even last a whole year.
