Breaking Away from CourseWorks: Alternatives to Learning Management Systems

This NME 2010 session, Dan Beeby, CCNMTL associate director of services, shares a range of web resources that offer richer, more unique functionality than what is available with existing learning management systems, such as CourseWorks. Dan discusses numerous free or low-cost options, many of which feature user-friendly designs that can lead to quick adoption in the classroom. He also highlights services that have been implemented at Columbia, such as Wikispaces and WordPress (EdBlogs).
