@Rtype1000 A tehetséget a jó Istentől kapjuk.

Ecce haereditas Domini, filii
Merces, fructus ventris

This is the most amazing celestial piece ever. That kind of inspiration must come directly from heaven. Can someone tell me what language is it? please!!!

@Servilio1000 Je pense comme vous.
You left out the translation of the first sentence (or, rather, misplaced it for the III.movement): Cum dederit dilectis suis somnum = For so he giveth his beloved sleep.
By the logic of thoughts, it doesn't belog to the second sentence, but they became first and second half of one verse of psalm in Roman liturgy (sung in Vespers).

Thank you very much! I thought there might be some simple explanation along those lines, that's why I asked. You know, when I went to school in Budapest, there was no religious education at school there, and even though I've been trying to catch up in all sorts of ways, there are always bits and pieces I manage to miss. I think you, being from St Petersburg, might well know what I mean from your parents' and grandparents' generation. Thank you again for your answer as well as for posting, Anna.
