  • It might be worth saying in passing that there is nothing culturally unique about the Republic of Ireland via-a-vis northern Ireland regarding celtic/Gaeltic culture. It is part of the British isles which comprises the Celtic fringe of Scottish, Welsh, Cornish and Isle of man. And in North Ireland there are 2 communities: one comprising settler protestants from lowland Scotland and England (also Celtic); the other the indigenous Gaelic Catholic nationalists who helped create the Irish state.

  • I've been to the island of Ireland many times as I am a post-graduate in Celtic Studies. What is call the 'Northern Irish' accent is actually an Ulster accent - covering not just Northern Ireland but the other 3 counties of Cavan, Monaghan, and Donegal. The 'northern lilt' can also be heard in County Louth.

  • @MegaGuitarman2010 Hey , Thanks for that . I always think that jokes and humour in general are SOOO MUCH BETTER once they have been fully and completely explained !

    .

  • @drystonetim This video is quite amazing and badly researched. Ireland has of course 2 political jurisdictions on the island. However, almost every country has strong regional accents. Look at the differences in England, for example, between a Cockney, Yorkshire, and West Country accent? And that does not even include the Scotland and Wales. Or consider the vast differences in American accents, and Austrian dialects? Are Fermanagh or Tyrone accents so different from a Donegal accent.

  • Bahahahhahaaaa

  • What if Martin McGunniess had become president? Sure our nations most revered president Mary McAleese is from Belfast. Didn't hear any jackins or rebels changing their tone. Wow

  • @mousey1234567 Yeah. It's a joke. But jokes can be made in terribly bad taste; like a joke about Clerical abuse. When I saw this on another clip I had precisely the same thought as Elevationary.

If you don't get it, that's fine, but there are 1,000s of victims of rape and brutality, and it seems they're still invisible to people like you and me if that's simply just funny.

  • LMAO LOL

  • @bigmassivebrid

Ya know what ya can do wi that? Stick it in a pan.

  • HAHAHAHA LOL
