@pnyc1969 You know it wasn't a competition? They do have varying vocals and that's what the producers were looking for. Ms Battle excelled when she needed to and Ms Norman did the same. They compliment each other.

Jessye really outsings Kathleen here. It's sort of the opera equivalent of Diana Ross-Patti Labelle mic toss. But it's great concert. I've enjoyed it for years, esp. Jesse's "Deep River" and "Give Me Jesus" and Kathleen's "Swing Low" and "Witness".

Actually, thinking about it for a sec it was more like "So you say you're a sister", and each verse was different. OOh, it was great! I wish I could find it again!

Does anyone remember that Norman/Battle duet where they were going "you think you're a sister?" It was some old southern folksy tune, and it was great, but I can't find it now!
