Tapping Into Our Local Talent: Christopher Jordan of Professional Insurance & Risk Brokerage, LLC

Here is the ninth interview conducted by RE/MAX realtor Connie White of Norwell, MA in a series featuring experts in the local South Shore business community. In this video she interviews Christopher Jordan, Broker & President of Professional Insurance & Risk Brokerage, LLC, about his insurance brokerage.

Chris worked right out of college for a brokerage that was "turning and burning" clients & underwriters, jamming insurance down each other's throats. Not liking what he saw, he started his own insurance brokerage with a mission to both "represent the client and be professional with insurance companies".

Chris deals primarily with property & casualty, workman's comp, general liability, & commercial auto insurances. He reviews new clients' insurances to find inadequacies in existing programs & then rewrites their policies, typically for a lot less money.

His specialties are in professional liability (also known as errors & omissions or malpractice), pollution or environmental liability, and directors & officers' insurance. His typical clients include law or CPA firms, real estate or mortgage brokers, computer consultants & designers, contractors, architects, & engineers.

His firm is unique in that he doesn't operate under the incentive of a 20% contingency check from insurance companies - a practice he says motivates other agencies to encourage clients to blindly submit claims rather than teaching them how to manage claims. Instead, he discusses his clients' claims extensively and words them to make the policy respond. He doesn't have a contract with any insurance company, allowing him to work with all insurance companies.
