You've seen the YouTube hit "Shit Girls Say" and Jeffery Self's "Shit Gay Guys Say."

I thought I could capitalize on their success, I mean I thought I could add value to the discussion. We gays of the south endure a good bit in order to survive in the bible belt. So, I thought we deserved our own video about the shit we say.

So, I was perusing the youtubes for gay southern accents for a stage show I'm doing in the fall( i'm an actor living in DC) and I stumbled upon this action, and I began to blow red wine bubbles out of my nose. On a second viewing, I spit a little out onto my carpet when I realized I went to school with you for a year at B-crest 97/98. If my memory serves me well, we were both tubby kids with bad bowl cuts!

Ok, first of all, you are not southern. That accent is Midwest trying to be southern. Nothing you said is southern and this video is boring. Just saying.

First of all, I was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, and I still live there. So, yes, I am, and the accent is real. Keep in mind, there is not just one Southern accent.

Being southern and gay........no. The only true thing I saw from that was "the higher the hair the closer to god" but that is more southern woman or at least who I have heard say it and "bless your heart" but everybody says that.
