The British supermarket giant would not refund a Christian woman who unknowingly bought Halal lamb until she said: you would not treat a Muslim this way.

Halal meat should be made illegal. Irrespective of what religion you are, it is sick and cruel the way they kill them. It's a shame that halal is being forced on us, just to please the politically correct brigade. Boycott them who sell halal.

@bhampakithugz I am concerned that she chose not to eat halal because she is anti-Islam, rather than making the choice out of any deeply-held philosophical standpoint.  But halal isn't just ordinary meat that's had prayers said over it - I choose not to eat halal because it involves slaughtering animals without stunning them first, causing them both intense fear and pain, which I find morally wrong and won't pay to support.

I totally agree with this woman that she should have the right to reject Halal meat. What I disagree with is her then using this to promote rights of Christianity. No religion should be given special privileges. As an atheist, one should be able to reject Halal meat. Christianity has bugger all to do with this story IMHO.
