CONTINUED: and took my brother home. That's an example of a good parent, and i'm not just saying that because she is my mother. Parents need to realize that if their kids do a sport that they did as a kid, they do want to make mommy or daddy proud, but if they all of a sudden want to do something else, then the parents should accept it and move on. Parents also need to realize that kids see the world through their own eyes, so they should be allowed to play whichever sport they want to.

I know exactly what you mean. When i played soccer awhile back, a girl from the other team kicked the ball and it landed in our goal. The coach called time-out, and i saw that the girl was being yelled at by her parents. When i saw that, i was like "Jeez, folks!" to my other teammates. Another time, my brother was playing soccer and he was in the middle of a game, and he said to my mom "I don't want to play soccer, mommy", so my mom was a little shocked, but she said "okay, honey." and took

This is fairly good rant but the point about shortening the bench with kids doesn't follow a fair play code. Believe in win as a team, lose as a team. You won't have to answer to parents about whether or not their kid is the star or not.

The culture is
If you don't do sport,
There's something wrong with you and you must be forced to do sport.
Luckily my parents know that I hate sport and enrolled me in more fun stuff like drama, art and animation.
Unfortunately they also signed me up for fencing and I'm ALWAYS paired up with someone bigger faster and more intimidating than me.
It's terrifying and all my parents say is:
"you'll get better as you do more sessions"

not the kid, the parent called the coach that because the coach didn't skate his kid when the bench got shorted.
