  • Well Done Colin for taking time out to do this the people of Manchester are so lucky for your service to the comminity. It was great for me to watch this in Australian so many memories brought back. My brother Paul was born in Victoria square, the Shamrock was a pasted time as well as Hat Feathers as you will remember. Got ticket for the Ragged school every Christmas loved it. Smithfield market well we used to climb under the canvass and steal the fruit & Veg! ! Catch you and Gagsy soon xxx

  • thank you so much for this clip. I am a genealogist trying to find my ancestors roots in Collyhurst. So many names of locations are now real to me. It is hard for me being in Australia to get a minds eye of these places, however thanks to people like yourself this has been made easier for me .

  • use to play alot in the Tunnel muggers ally as you called it efore the cop shop was built

  • top video , i'm from oldham but still interested in the surrounding areas history

  • Live on Hammerton Rd. And everyone friendly round here.. From New Moston originally but we moved South to Wythenshawe. Happy to see the North still has a great spirit! Really interested in local history and this hits the spot! Collyhurst was a mining area for local stone, it built Manchester!
