Mesa Boogie Rectoverb Combo Part 2 (Modern)

Ok. It seems that this is the part that everybody cares about. Channel 2 in modern high gain mode. This is Metallica territory. If you play around with the dials and presence knobs you can get a nice tight, punchy sound with plenty of bottom end. You don't need a booster or overdrive pedal to accomplish this. Anyone says that you do is full of shit and they don't know how to dial up a good sound. It's all about tweaking the EQ on the amp. The beauty of this amp is that it can be played with no real effects added and it still sounds great. Anyway, I hope this helps anyone who is interested in purchasing this amp and wants to get an idea of what it sounds like. Enjoy!

@GuitarSpecialist Yes I do. Maxon OD808 overdrive pedal in the front of the amp for a solo boost only. In the effects loop I have in order from guitar input: Morley Steve Vai Bad Horsie Wah pedal>Digitech Whammy pedal>Boss Super Chorus pedal>Boss DD7 delay pedal>MXR Phase 90>Boss Chromatic Tuner pedal>Boss 7 Band EQ pedal>Boss Compression/Sustainer pedal>Line 6 DL4 Delay Modeler> into FX Loop of amp.

I put my other amps in storage. My attic looks like Guitar Center's warehouse right now. Ha ha. I refuse to let go of gear. My wife is having kittens over it. Women just don't get the whole gear thing. The big four! That must have been a hell of a concert. How was Metallica?

@buckster7777 By the way. I have my eye on an Ibanez RG 1527 Prestige 7 string guitar on CG. Asking price $700 with the original case. It's a 2005 in mint condition with no players wear at all. I talked to him yesterday on the phone and he said he would go down to $650. What do you think? I figured I'd ask you since your always buying guitars from ebay and CG.

@BT71guitar Dude, they killed it! They were the only set that I actually got to watch because we seemed to find ourselves in on on the edge of the pit for the three others. :)

I sold a bunch of stuff lately; my wife was birthing kittens as well. I had to get a couple of new firearms. I am about as much of a junkie for guns as I am for guitars.

I hear you on the amp wattage thing, man. I only have two power tubes running in my Einstein. 100 watts is too much with neighbors.
