This was my first experience of waking up in a dream. This is similar to a lucid dream (where we realise we're dreaming and then can have some level of control and clarity in the dream) but different in that rather than just realising we're in a dream and staying in it, we actually wake up out of the dream and have an out of body experience in the astral as consciously as if we had projected from our body.

Over the years of trying to get into the astral and have out of body experiences I have had a lot more experiences from waking up in dreams than projecting straight from my body.

There are a number of techniques we can use to wake up in dreams.

If you're interested in learning how to do it, you might like to check out 'A Course in Astral Travel and Dreams' by Belzebuub. This book (and earlier versions like 'When I Go to Sleep') is really awesome and it's that information from Belzebuub that helped me learn how to remember my dreams and have out of body experiences! I think 'A Course in Astral Travel and Dreams' is going to be released shortly as a free ebook on http://www.belzebuub.com/free-spiritual-ebooks.

Note: When I talk about getting sick, that was just a regular flu, NOT caused by doing practices to try and get into the astral!

  • Also, sometimes I get into this half asleep state where I am tossing and turning in my bed, and I am not even myself...

one time I sensed that my limbs were used for painting my bed as i turned, and as I woke up, the feeling of regaining my own conscious thought compared to the subconscious personality of the painter, was so strange, as the faint half-dream seemed like real my universe. But I only had a vague sense that this was happening.....

    It's really hard to explain!

  • @1y9b9b I think I know what you mean :) It sounds like they might have been the start of dream images you were seeing. If you're getting to that point you're not far at all from consciously having an out of body experience. If you can stay relaxed and focussed until you know you're asleep or the images get stronger then you can try gently rolling over and standing up (like if you were going to get up physically into the morning). Then you can get up and find yourself in the astral.

  • Fun!, thanks for sharing your experience..

  • @omcasey1 Yeah, pretty fun! :) Lots of other stuff you can do with out of body experiences too like finding out about past lives, going to spiritual places or meeting spiritual beings to get teachings, learning about ourselves and personal obstacles in our lives..

  • I like how you talked about how you were feeling kind of ill in real life but in the Astral plane you weren't sick at all. That's really cool that you got to experience that, kind of showing you, your more than your physical body. Truly awesome!

  • @joeylandkammer Yeah, I thought that was pretty interesting too! I've heard of people who have been blind or deaf and have been able to see / hear when having an astral experience too!

  • @1y9b9b Yeah, when I was a kid I remember having conscious dreams, but then they stopped as I grew older. We can learn to remember and interpret our dreams though, and to have lucid dreams. There's a good mantra to remember dreams, try searching for RAOM GAOM on youtube and you'd probably like the book I mentioned in the comments section

  • I remember when I was a kid I used to have dreams like this,

where I would know that I was dreaming and I could walk, and fly and force my way through the dream.

Now all i get is either no dream recollection, or if I'm lucky some fleeting recollection of part of a dream where my actions are not my own and I can't/won't/don't have conscious control over the dream.

It makes the nights go a lot faster..

  • That is so cool that your finger stretched! I have attempted that many times in Lucid Dreams, but it doesn't work, even if I am super clear. It's like I just really don't want to see it stretch because it freaks me out. The weird thing is that I have stretched my legs and arms up to a several feet longer, but I just can't get that finger to stretch! :D That is wonder full that you didn't feel your physical sickness in the astral, showing that it really was just physical.

  • waow - cool experience and amazing what happens when we truly ask from the heart.

A lot of teachings here :)

Thanks David and wishing you and everyone lots of lucid dreaming :)
