keep her screeming !! I worked a few years age, with truck rental company. some 53, 71, 92 driver asked me how to drive.. I told them, first thing, stick your fingers in the door jam, and slam the door !!! then drive like a pissed off wet cat... they will last longer....go Detroits >))

detroits were never known for torque i don't know about marine spec or the 53 series but i drive an 81 pete with a 8v92ta silver series and its a 475 with 9g95 injectors making about 500hp and about 1250 ft/lbs of torque! they are not torque motors so don't lug "em you gotta keep them wound up tight! nice video by the way, like i said i don't know much about the 53 series motors but becareful putting tubos cause the older motors can't handle the pressure and you will blow it apart

The engine is a 1972 marine 8V53 it was rated at 400 hp idont know the torque, im workin on a vnt turbo set up but may possibly set up a centrifical blower instead. i should know this info im the one in the video,This is the only info i will release right now, Thank You

yes im gonna put it into a pulling truck to pull at the local fairs

i wonder how much horsepower it would produce if you added a turbo and larger injectors into that engine, i bet you can pullwell over 450hp and ungodly amounts of torque

hp=torquexrpm  basic physics you guys need to brush up on your math . I operated power plants on uss enterprise. my prop shaft torque limit was 2.25 million ftlbs . shaft hp @ 170 rpm redline was 70,000 math is math go to a dyno shop in your home town and ask.
