After a couple of weeks of sole use, we bring you some of the highlights and lowlights of the software and hardware of this new tablet from Samsung and Verizon. While a solid device, the unit does seem to be slightly hampered by Android (and its available app catalog) more than anything else thus far.

Size (inches) 10.1" 16M PLS TFT LCD

Battery: 7000mAh
Standby time: 400 hours
Continuous usage time: 12 hours

Camera Resolution: 3MP rear-facing, 2MP front-facing camera

Processor: 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 Dualcore
On Board Memory: 16GB internal storage, 1GB RAM

Product Dimensions (inches) 10.1" x 6.9" x 0.34"
Weight 20 ounces

The 16GB Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 with 4G is available from Verizon for $529 with a two year contract.

  • Can you do a comparison between Android tablets? I mean, you already know what you're getting with an iPad, you just have to choose drive space, WiFi/3G, but with Android tablets, there's a lot more to choose from.

Nice to see PocketNow is covering tablets.

  • @sterlingman @bigsteamfan We'll be sure to mention other Android tablets I've used in comparison, but the main focus will be Apple vs Android because that's what the average consumer sees. You are both right - a spec vs spec comparison simply doesn't make sense. The next video won't focus on specs so much as functionality and capabilities.

  • check da description '700mAh'

    really

btw nice device n uber cool with Verizon's 4G LTE

  • @omairdipsite Thanks. I mentioned 7000 in the video, but it was late when I was editing the description. Fixed!

  • So, wait a minute... the idiot who made this (cough) "review," wasn't aware that you can change the background/wallpaper on the Galaxy Tab??? That is an epic fail! I stopped watching this video as soon as I read that. I was questioning this guys credibility all that time, but as soon as I heard that, I knew he had none. I've owned both the iPad 2 and Galaxy, and he is really slamming the Galaxy. BOTH devices are superb. I can't choose one over the other. And also, the Galaxy has LIVE wallpapers.

  • Is there a class somewhere that can teach us how to use this tab to it's full potential? I have looked everywhere and I can't find a class or even an online class. I know the basics but I know it can do so much more.
