"Sixteen Years" is my cross-section of teenage depression and suicide.

People say, "It made me cry," and "Sixteen Years" opened a new communication between my son and I."

Students Opposing Suicide (S.O.S.) chose this film as the opening to Issaquah High School's Parent Seminar on suicide and teenage depression. Over 120 parents showed up and the seminar was a huge success.

February 2004. I was 16 years old (hence the name)

  • i cried.

  • @sexysalvadorian45 Did you ever think that this person who made it felt depressed. unwanted. maybe that person wanted the "lil comments" to help them to not do this or something. dont always think negative. jeez...

  • @sexysalvadorian45 My foster brother commited suicide cause when he told his biological mother he was Homosexual she rejected him and cut off all contact One month, two weeks and three days later he committed suicide. It is the hardest thing i have had to deal with in my life. Apart from thinking my mother would reject me when i told her but then when my older bro came out i came out at the same time and when people found out and i was rejected, afraid, alone, scared i read the letter he wrote.

  • Ya know, I don't want to shit on this video. But enough of people said all these sad soapy things. I want to contribute something that can actually help. Kiddies, sleep more. Seriously. Teenagers are forced to go to school very early (thanks, gov't, for making our teens depressed!) and because of their natural body chemistry they can't get to sleep early enough. So they wake up and go through life like zombies. I suggest taking naps in school more often. It'll reduce depression significantly.

  • Well done!!!

  • nicely thought out video, simple yet provoking. Well done

  • Wow..

  • @mynameisdarthtater honestly i am not that simple minded... i may be younger but i have a far higher intelligence level than most of the idiots in this world now if you had put something like that than i probably would have called you on it for in my opinion its all or nothing you can make any thing say anything you want just by using context (and ps. that whole thing about good things being taken out ok.... not so parcel to that either) =) oh and i believe i just pwned u by watching that video

  • @gamefreak22574 here's something funny... in the last 4 months you have been the only person to realize that that particular verse is taken out of context. for all the jesus talk, very few people seem to know the context of some of the words of their own holy book.

Also, it is interesting to note that if i had quoted perhaps John 3:16, you wouldn't have asked for context. i reccomend you watch the video "CONTEXT!!!" by nonstampcollector, although i doubt you will.
