Gangster rap? Look into the legend of Stagger Lee, the baddest mofo on the block. To me, the entire gangster rap persona is little more than an extension of the Stagger Lee myth, an old folk tale that's circulated in the Black community since the last century. Stagger Lee is the story of a Black man completely in control; a type of man who, in reality, in the larger culture, has very little control, even over his life.
Look into this. It's deep. It's archetypal. Booby Seale named his son SL.

It seems each part of this lecture series included one or more films (or film excerpts) shown during the classroom meeting. But the title of each film is never made explicit. Could you add the title of each film in the video description?
Thank you.
