Random friday facts learn the history of black friday.

The phrase Black Friday was originally used to describe the stock market panic set off by plunging gold prices in 1869.

Wasn't until the 1960s that newspapers in Philadelphia started using the phrase to describe the rush of people to stores.

Protests this year called Occupy black Friday wanted consumers to stay away from large chains. They had several types of protests from consumer zombies to protesting in front of stores.
