It's easy to imagine such a simple and true song to be written by the one who lost their love. Hopelessness and acceptance, all in the same moment.

I'm a college Freshman (1998)...I'm sitting in the grass trying to do a sketch of the engineering building on Campus...Smoking my first Camel Light (back when smoking was cool) Listening to a DiscMan (remember those?) When this really pretty girl comes over and sits next to me... We talk and talk...it didn't work out... but this song (and album) is why I remember the moment so well. Ahh music.

Oh man, when Semisonic had such a great start... I wish that they would put out another CD. It has been a decade, hopefully they produce another that relinquishes their roots in MPLS.
