Dr Andrew Coley, from NHS North West, gives his thoughts on clinical engagement and the first Clinical Congress. The first North West Clinical Congress will take place on 27 November at the JJB Stadium in Wigan.
This inaugural event has been developed by the NHS North West and the Healthcare Commission, supported by the North West Clinical Leadership Network.
The theme of the event is 'Who sets the standards?' and key note speakers include Professor Sir Ian kennedy, Chairman of the Healthcare Commission. The conference will be chaired by Mike Farrar, Chief Executive of NHS North West.
This event is open to clinical colleagues from all professional areas. It is the first event of its kind in the North West and we hope to set in place a blue-print for ensuring health care professionals from the region work more closely with senior managers to shape the future direction for local NHS services. A copy of the event programme and booking instructions can be downloaded by going to www.cln.nhs.uk.
