@goodideagonebad - Heh. Nofollow links still count. They are not "useless". The bottom line: 1) regardless, you get traffic directly from people viewing your answer. 2) nofollow links still count as backlinks (go search Yahoo Site Explorer some time)...there are people who do most of their SEO building backlinks that are nofollow.

All links posted on Yahoo Answers are rel=nofollow, so they are useless and have no value whatsoever as backlinks. Same as Twitter, same as most blogs, same as most of the internet at this point.
This was initiated by Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft 6 years ago (January 2005) and people are still confused. Unbelievable.
