+++ update +++ Sept 09: Lövkvist enters new British Team Sky -- as Löfkvist +++

LÖVKVIST crashs on wet road (getting onto the B6, near the BLG) Deutschland Tour 2008 in Bremen-City.

Team Columbia took both the top two places on this stage -- and on the overall classification. Linus Gerdemann triumphed overall, with team-mate Lovkvist in second and the winner of the Best Young Rider competition.

Tony Martin took first in BRE, Bert Grabsch, second at 34", Gerdemann was fourth at 1'17" and Lovkvist - despite this crash close to the finish - sixth at 1'52".

Thomas Lovkvist (of Gotland, Sweden) is aged 24.

off season : it is not unusual for him to spend six hours riding his mountain bike -- in the snow.

He's a former Swedish Time Trial and
in 2006 he won the Swedish National Road Race.
He took second place in Tour de l'Avenir -- as a 20 year old in 2004.

Career highlights:

2nd overall and stage winner Criterium International 2007 2nd place, Stage 14 - Vuelta a Espana Swedish Road Race Champion 2006 Swedish Time Trial Champion 2004 Overall and stage winner Circuit de la Sarthe 2004.
