Correction:
At one point I meant to say "former" instead of "latter" and if heard it sounds like I attributed Afanasiev as saying the Didache relayed the things Cyprian did; I was speaking about Cyprian.
The theme of this video is illustrating what the eminent scholar Nichols below and others have noted about Cyprian's succession and ecclesiology. Cyprian's Church is grounded by its very literal, living Apostolic nature, "Cyprian's viewpoint was ..that the rights and duties of the Church's bishops **are those of the apostles themselves**--- and not simply the rights and duties of ministers appointed by apostles"

There is a pope, I forgot whom exactly, who mentions how the See of Peter is being held by THREE bishops at the same time... so... where is the head exactly??

@SiegfriedTarnovo Erroneous! Erroneous on both accounts!...lol :-D

@SiegfriedTarnovo The difference to E"O" ecclesiology being that neither "Old Catholics" nor sedevacantists have a Pope - Catholics do.

@Shlomayo
They claim that you are schismatic, so i'm totally lost :( lol
SiegfriedTarnovo 9 months ago
@SiegfriedTarnovo This does not make any sense at all since sedevacantists and "old Catholics" are all schismatics: they are easily identified as being outside the Catholic Church - just as the Eastern "Orthodox".

@jcmartin66
Yes just like me i'm lost between sedevacantists, old catholics, normal roman catholics, it is anarchy big time and does not work at all :)))

@jcmartin66 so true, that is exactly what I ran into when I was considering Orthodoxy as opition as a Anglocatholic, which has it's own choas, not only in theology but in its ecclesiology. It is extremely problematic. I converted to catholicism because it alone was doctrine of the church that was a part of the depoist of the faith delievered by apostles and carried on faithfully by the fathers. There is and only can be, One head, the carrier of keys who leads and guides his fellow sheperds.

I have an acquaintance who is a priest in the Russian Orthodox Autonomous Church which is not in communion with the Moscow Patriarch. I love eastern Christianity, but it is simply ecclesiastical anarchy. Take for instance the Orthodox Church in Ukraine, there are 3 major competing orthodox Churches there. Almost impossible to sift through whom is in communion with whom and which bishops are excommunicated from which churches. Just speaking of pragmatism, Orthodox, ecclesiology doesn't work.

Only the Catholic Church meets the criterion for being in the full sense, a truly Apostolic church. St. Cyprian's universal context of the Church is absolutely devastating to the autocephalous. Excellent points.
