UMM I DONT GET THIS SONG?

A story told from the childs view of her father abusing her mother. The mother burns their house down. The child comes home and it hints that both her parents died in the flames ( ,took down some names and sent her to the county home....No word about either parent being left...they were just names)
Independence day for her and her mother who she believes should not be judged harshly..(the chorus is a powerful statement for the oppressed, to let them have their day)
