@MrJFreddo that's a good point, I just hate that people are making so much money off the art of yesterday, it feels wrong. the people who made that music should have their art respected, not sampled and rapped over and now associated with some contemporary rapper. I am glad Steely Dan is being introduced to younger audiences, but I'm pretty young too and I feel like if people study real MUSIC they will know about SD already.

@truthslap You have to be able to look at the big picture here. By sampling, Kanye is both paying homage to and introducing older artists such as Steely Dan to his younger audiences. Personally, I don't see how that can be a bad thing for those artists or music in general. It's not like his listeners can appreciate the music of the older artists he samples as well as more modern hip hop and rap.
