CNN REPORTS ON MANILA FLOODING

CNN reporting on Manila epic floods. The rainfall brought by typhoon "Ondoy" to Metro Manila and nearby areas in a span of six hours on Saturday was the most in recorded history, surpassing the previous record for the metropolis in 1967, a weather bureau official said.

i know what you mean bro but the only thing is there was no warning. they lacked coordination with the disaster council, armed forces of the Philippines and local government units and none LGUs. they took everyone by surprise. If you were the Captain of the ship will you sacrifice lives of your passengers by moving the ship? it should have been better to release and flood metro knee high everyday than flood it more than 3 storeys high and killing a lot of people and living a lot homeless.

Pinas is poor because of corrupt businessmen (who don't pay taxes) and politicians of all stripes (who don't allocate what little taxes are collected but instead pocket them). I know these to be facts because I'm heavily-connected like that (i.e. to the tune of I can call certain Senators "Tito" and get away with it).

Not because of the clergy, speaking of which, did you know the Vatican has been running a deficit for the past several years? Transparency? Hah!

bakit mahirap ang pinas? ano ba ang religion ang nagdomanite dyan? Italy, Spain, Portugal mang-aagaw ng mga bansa based on history. Today all churches catholic or not, should pay taxes. All catholic churches walang transparency sa kanilang money. Mga pare't madre de kotse, mga sikat na hotel pa magmeeting kuno para makatulong sa mahihirap. Maglelead pa ng welga samantalang sa loob nila may malaking corruption.

What's your beef against the Catholic Church? No other single organization feeds more hungry people in the entire world. How is that "help only in words"?

Get your head straight, those "land and properties" are what allows the local Church to carry-out their ministry. What would "redistributing" them be good for? Turn the Church FROM an organization who COLLECTIVELY OWNS land to help the poor INTO one which RENTS to do the same? Which equals LESS for HELP?
