in arizona as a teen i had so many of these cute lil buggers as pets.. some i let go and never had a problem with them dying, mine ate termites and ants a plenty.. they were my best friends! you never seem to see any anymore but about 15 years back they were very plentiful, its a shame really as they are such little characters

I lived in Texas at the time, I would just go to the park and collect them using a hand broom and dust pan.

There used to be a place that had em here in marlton nj, never seen them any place else. They are hard to find, but also very hard to keep. Eveyone I tried to keep in NJ died for lack of red harvester ants, when I lived in Texas I caught wild harvester ants and the lizard thrived.

How are these as pets? Did he evr squirt blood out of his eyes? Do you have a video of that?

They rarely squirt blood from their eyes. They have to feel very threatened, even wild ones. Mine is nice and tame and friendly since he is captive bred.
