Élie Dupuis in the studio recording THE GREAT ESCAPE for the soundtrack of MAMAN EST CHEZ LE COIFFEUR (Mommy is at the Hairdresser's) in 2008.

Written by Canadian singer Patrick Watson in 2005, the song is generally interpreted as being about suicide. I bought the soundtrack (Analekta label) at Archambaud's the same day I saw the movie, and Élie is the best thing about it. Although the song is in English, the subtitles help, even with the original Patrick Watson version.

  • Choux cette cahnson la est pour toi parce que je t'adore

  • This boy is magnificent full of talent

  • *live *say (sorry i'm writting from my iPad and I'm not used to the keyboard)

  • @Profriend I luve in Quebec and I can says that it's really not easy to learn english when you're only a child and I started to understand it and to speak it when I was twelve. So he's not that bad from my point of view. Anyway, canadian schools are even worse when it's time to teach french to english children.

  • @a33sotoable It's not a complete list of course, but do a search for the Boy Choir and Soloists Directory. It's a world-wide online database with thousands of entries. Elie has been listed there since 2008.

  • @lbgmailsm Elie's first language is French, hence the accent and incorrect enunciation of some words. Quebec schools don't teach English very well, and would rather not teach it at all.

  • @hel0m0t0 he's Canadian but singing with the Canadian accent can give some...well...weird results. that's not how he sings I think because he could sing with his regular accent; but that's how this song is supposed to be sung I guess.

  • @lbgmailsm if he's not french then why does he have the accent and the pronounciation stuff? is that just how he sings?

  • @mstsHD Oh Ok I'll start looking, haha thankyou
