  • The water pump is 1/2" PVC pipe and a modified 30 CAL rifle cartridge for the piston with the primer removed. The piston has to have a hole in it with a check valve. I placed a drywall screw in the cartridge where the primer used to be. The screw works as a check valve allowing water to pass only one way and seals off the hole. I used another 30 cal rifle cartridge for the bottom of the pvc. Here's an illustration that shows how it works. tinyurl DOT com/22vozet
