World War I Aircraft
2003 Vectren Dayton Airshow
Dayton International Airport
Dayton, Ohio
Sunday July 20, 2003
IN THIS VIDEO, watch as a gaggle of replicas of World War I aircraft take to the skies over Dayton International Airport. I need your help in identifying the aircraft in this video, but I can safely say there is a Fokker DR.1 in the video.
Like what you've seen? Well, if you are interested in purchasing DVDs of specific aircraft and/or of airshows, interested in anything and everything related to airshows (where the jet teams will show up, all airshow performers, airshow reports from airshows I have attended, previews of airshows I will be attending, etc.), a much more easier to navigate "version" of all of my videos, and/or everything there is related to aviation - including spotting guides to my favorite airports and military bases and aircraft factfiles, please take time to check out Steve's Airshow World at http://www.stevesairshow.com .
Question. Some of those aircraft look like they came right out of the Air Force Museum collection! Does the museum still fly some of these planes?

The bright pale yellow biplane is a Swedish made Thulin O1. It's not actually a World War One airplane. The machine was originally designed and built in 1919 as a trainer for the expanding Swedish air force. The Fokker D.VII in the video is painted as the yellow nosed version used by Lt. Lothar von Richtofen, brother of Manfred.

1:07-1:16 is a Fokker D VII, 3:00-3:14 is a SE5a, but the light yellow plane i'm not sure

The big rugged plane with the yellow nose surely is a Fokker D-7.
